Studio is currently working with various artists listed most recently

April 2007: Joe Purdy and Band
Old Mill Studios has just finished recording Joe Purdy's new album "Last Clock on the Wall" due to be released hopefully the end of the year. A big thank you to Joe, Will, Deacon, Perry, Raj, Waq, Brian and Johnny for coming to sunny Strathaven to record the record it was ridiculously good fun. Thank you to Jeff and Brian from Cava for the help and gear. The whole album was also filmed by Raj Pathak and will be released on DVD. Pictures from Neale will be appearing soon on the site and on our myspace. More to follow.

March 2007: Soul Circus
Soul Circus will be playing at Old Mill Studios on the 12th of May contact us or the band if you fancy tickets for the show. Meanwhile the band recorded their cracking new EP here at the old mill. Check it out on their myspace. 
March 2007: The Maple Thieves 50's Blues, Rock and Roll, booze and Obscene Jokes pretty much sums up the recording of 6 songs for Glasgow band the Maple Thieves. Great lads check them out well worth it.

March 2007: The Tobias Casuals A good helping of classic 70s inspired rock from the Tobias Casuals. Fast paced, flu and beer infested recording session that ended up with the band completing 4 new songs available on myspace. The lads are playing Box in Glasgow soon go check them out.
 March 2007: Solarize Strathaven band Solarize came in to record three new tracks. Chose a cracking picture of them from their website enough said. Hope they'll be back soon. Check them out.

February 2007: Luma Glasgow Band Luma came in to record their new EP. The session was a great laugh, cracking lads. Nudity and sweet music what more can you ask for. The songs include the added flavour strings added by girls from the RSAMD. The song "13" is available to listen to on our myspace well worth checking them out. 
February 2007: Nacional
Glasgow Band Nacional booked in for a recording session the week before an appearance at Old Mill Studios first showcase gig. Recording four new songs the recordings sound great all the songs are available on their myspace and "Lucas" is available on the Old Mill myspad. Photos taken by Neale Smith from Nacional's performance are available on myspace and here under Media.

January 2007: Covington Case

Dumfermline band Covington Case had a rather drunken excursion to Old Mill Studios to record their new EP "Riding Lights". Five new tracks and a superb live version of "in the jungle" were completed....far to much alcohol. Check them out on their myspace or listen to the samples which will appear on the media page shortly.
January 2007: 4th in Line 
Cheeky Edinburgh chaps 4th in Line had 3 amusing days at Old Mill Studios. Gourmet Jelly beans were had by all including jalapeno flavour, ridiculous. Videos from the bands time at the mill are available on their website check it out for a giggle.
January 2007: Monosonic 
Glasgow Band Monosonic saw in the new year by being the first band in the Old Mill for 2007. The band completed 4 new songs all available on their myspace.
December
2006: The Black Rats

Strathaven band the
Black Rats completed 4 songs at Old Mill Studios for their new
EP. Check out their myspace to hear the tracks, or check out the media
section soon for samples of the tunes.
December
2006: The Dials

Edinburgh band The
Dials completed their new single Angelene at Old Mill studios.
The Dials are heading for big things having recently supported the
Fratellis, the Subways, the Sunshine Underground and the View. Both
songs the band recorded should appear on their myspace
soon.
November
2006: Sisa

Sisa
came in to the studio to record drum tracks for some new tracks they
are completing at their home studio. The band are a funked mix of
rock and retro electro pop. The tracks will be available to preview
on myspace
soon. Looking forward to hearing them.

Genaro
recorded two new songs at Old Mill Studios "Strawberry Jam"
and "Demons". The second song Demons was partly recorded
within Studio 2: The Thomson Hall, images are available on the images
page. both songs will be available to sample on the media
page soon.

2006: De Rosa

De
Rosa filmed a music video for "Evelyn" as part of the
BBC music show series. We'll keep you posted on the homepage when
the video will be on the music show. "Evelyn" is part of
the bands new double A-side single along with "Fathers Eyes"
and will be released on the 20th of November. Get yourself a copy
of the single at the end of the month, or even better get the bands
album Mend released on Gargleblast records also recorded by Andy Millar

2006: Dark Little Poet
Glasgow band Dark
Little Poet recorded three cracking new tracks "The Story
of", "Tired of Waiting" and "This City".
All tracks are available to listen to on the bands myspace.
Watch out for them gigging round about Glasgow. Check out the samples
on the Media page.

August
2006: Desert Hearts
Belfast band Desert
Hearts on Gargleblast
records were in the studio working on three new songs including
the working titles "the Usual" and "1234". Desert
Hearts second album "Hotsy Totsy Nagasaki" released
on Gargleblast
Records will be in the shops soon. Recorded at Chem19 studios
in Hamilton by Andy Millar it's highly recommended grab yourself a
copy. Check oot the Media page for samples
of the demos.

July
2006: Martins Room
Glasgow band Martins Room
recorded 3 songs with the studio called "Team Gia", "Elixir
of the Gods" and my favourite "Good to Drive". Previews
will appear in the media section.
May
2006: Bang She's Dead
The End of May has also
seen the studio working with Bang She's Dead. Completing three new
Songs "Union Jack", "Rhythm Section" and "You
Don't get much sun". A late night and a great laugh produced
three great recordings with the majority of all three songs completed
live. Recommend looking up the band on their myspace,
five Quality chaps and great band. Samples of the songs are available
to preview in the media section.

May
2006: The Suspects
The End of May and the
studio has been working with Glasgow band The Suspects. The Suspects
completed two songs, "Coke Junkie" and "Throw it away"
both of which were completed live with the band playing together in
different areas of the Old Mill studio. The day also had some comical
overdubs, great nasal sounds by Johnnie, and a good laugh. Great band
and cracking guys check them out on myspace.

April
2006: Eliza & Amy
Early April the studio
worked with two singer songwriters from Glasgow. The girls Eliza
and Amy both only 15 were great singers and a dab hand at the
piano. Their producer/accompanist, Neale, and the girls completed
5 songs at the studio using the grand piano in studio 1. All five
songs turned out terrific with one now available to preview in the
media section.
March
2006: The Vacant Tourists
The month of March and
the studio has been working with Edinburgh band the
Vacant Tourists recording drums for 7 songs some of which will
be used on their new EP due out some time in April. Great band and
great guys check them out on myspace.

February
2006: The Heebie Jeebies
A new year and February
sees the studio working with Glasgow band The
Heebie Jeebies who have completed 3 new songs. All the songs were
completed live which was done using the studios new 24 track setup.
The results have been exciting for both the band and the studio as
it is the first time a completely live performance has been captured
with such excellent results.

September
2005: Genaro

September 2005 has seen
the Old mill working with Carluke band Genaro working on 3 new songs.
So far on Tuesday 14th Sept the drums have been completed in studio
1 on the the theatre stage. The studio has the recent addition of
a valve microphone which was used as an ambient room microphone helping
give the recordings more warmth and clarity. The bass and guitars
are being recorded on the 16th and a sample of the first completed
track will be available soon.
September
2005: Fraser Robb
The studio is currently
working on an album of new tracks with singer songwriter Fraser Robb.
The tracks have involved recording extensively with the grand piano
in studio 1 proving a real pleasure. So far the bare bones of all
ten tracks are in place and a sample of one track is given below:

August
2005: Sooth
Sooth are a hard-working
band from central Scotland with every desire to push and experiment
with the music they love. Sooth have been playing the Glasgow area
for 3 years now, work hard and mastering their music and live performance.
Malcolm Frew, David Frew, Brian Eley and David Jack. Sooth have been
going since April 2002..
Sooth have been in the
studio twice creating two demo's sampling some of sooth's best material.
The first effort, the self titled "Sooth" was recorded in
Chem 19 studio's, Hamilton 6 months after the band formed. Only 100
cd's were pressed, which have now all been sold. The second demo,
and last recorded effort, from the band "A Night At The Railway"
was again recorded at Chem 19 along with Andy Miller but this time
being mixed by Iain Cook from Arerrogramme with copies disappearing
fast.
Sooth are currently finishing
their third demo featuring four new songs recorded with us at The
Old Mill studios available soon.
Sooth have their own my
space section with a biography and four of their songs available to
listen to. They have also included a picture diary of their three
days recording at The
Old Mill Studios.


August
2005: Drift
Drift started out in January
2004 since then they've gone from strength to strength playing many
well known venues around Glasgow including King Tutts and the Glasgow
Universities Q.M.U. Recording a demo at The Red Room provided positive
reviews from Magazines and Local newspapers and are currently recording
their second demo at the Old Mill Studios. The demo also provided
the drift with entry into an unsigned band competition ran by Beat
106 and Miller lager and has also been used by Scottish Television
as jingle for various TV slots. The demo got the band down to the
last ten unsigned bands in Scotland.
